Terms of Service

Effective August 26, 2026. Last updated August 26, 2026.

These terms govern your use of GridHour. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Using GridHour, signing in with Google, or connecting Calendar means you accept them.

01

The service

GridHour is a time-management application that layers a week grid, tasks, tags, and hour counts on top of Google Calendar. It is operated by Matthew Tims and offered at https://gridhour.app. The service is currently provided without charge. Features can change.

02

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 and able to form a contract. You need a Google account. You are responsible for complying with Google’s terms as well as these.

03

Your account

You are responsible for the Google account you use to sign in, for anyone you let use your session, and for any programmatic token issued for your GridHour instance. Keep those credentials private. Tell us if you think they leaked.

04

Google Calendar writes

When you connect Google Calendar, you authorize GridHour to read calendars you enable and to create, update, and delete events when you request it in the app. Those writes happen in your Google Calendar. You are responsible for the events that result — including conflicts, cancellations, and anything an authorized agent writes on your behalf.

You can disconnect Calendar in Settings at any time. Disconnecting does not undo events already written to Google.

05

Agents and MCP

If a machine client (including an AI assistant) is connected to GridHour’s MCP endpoint with a valid bearer token, that client can read and write your GridHour data and your Google Calendar through GridHour. You are responsible for what that client does. Do not share the token. GridHour is not responsible for a third-party model’s mistakes.

06

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use GridHour to access anyone else’s account or calendars without permission.
  • Probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or bypass authentication.
  • Use GridHour to violate law or Google’s terms.
  • Upload malware or content you do not have the right to store.
  • Resell or scrape the service except as we expressly allow.

We may suspend access if we reasonably believe these rules were broken.

07

Intellectual property and your content

The GridHour app, design, and marks are owned by the operator. You keep ownership of your calendar content, tasks, and attachments. You grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to operate GridHour for you.

08

Disclaimer of warranties

GridHour is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, accurate, or free of defects. In particular:

  • GridHour is not a backup service. Keep copies of anything you cannot lose.
  • Google Calendar, not GridHour, is the source of truth for event writes.
  • We are not a lawyer, doctor, school, or employer. Hour counts are descriptive, not advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

09

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GridHour and Matthew Tims are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or missed appointments, even if advised of the possibility.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for GridHour in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) zero U.S. dollars if you paid nothing.

Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your Calendar writes, your agents, or your breach of these terms, except to the extent we caused the harm by our own willful misconduct.

10

Termination, law, and contact

You may stop using GridHour at any time and may request deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may stop offering the service or end your access with notice when practical, or immediately for abuse or legal risk.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in New Mexico have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere.

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are the entire agreement for the service. We may update them by posting a new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update is acceptance.
